Located just south of Old Bar, Saltwater National Park a popular seasonal camping spot for local Indigenous people, and its coastal location means that surfers, swimmers and fishers find it equally attractive.
Saltwater Point is famous for having one of the longest right point breaks in the region.
The adjacent beaches of Saltwater Beach and Wallabi Point Beach are separated by Saltwater Point within the national park.
You can experience the beauty of the coastal landscape on Five Islands walking track which sets out from Saltwater picnic area. The walk runs through paperbark swamp before it crosses over Saltwater Gully, where you'll enter Khappinghat Nature Reserve in the west.
There is also a headland walking track which is a great place to go whale watching. From August through to November, you might spot humpback whales on their annual migration.
The beaches are also great for families as there is a warm, shallow saltwater lagoon nestled against the picnic reserve in Khappinghat Creek.
Saltwater is part of the MidCoast Local Government Area.
