Jed Morgan is still on course to retain his place in the LIV Golf League on the final day of qualifying in the UAE. Morgan is the only Australian in the 20-strong field for the 36-hole finale on Sunday to round off three days of competition at Abu Dhabi Golf Club, featuring more than 70 players. The top three finishers will earn spots in the LIV Golf League in 2024. Morgan won the Australian PGA Championship in January last year but was relegated from the LIV Golf League at the end of the 2023 season. The Brisbane golfer was part of the all-Australian 'Ripper GC' team featuring Cameron Smith, Marc Leishman and Matt Jones and is determined to rejoin them in 2024. Morgan advanced to the double-round decider after shooting 66 on Saturday. "Obviously, I want to be back there," said Morgan, one of 13 players in Saturday's field who received first-round byes, with nine of those players advancing. "That's where I want to play my golf." Thailand's Suteepat Prateeptienchai set the pace with an 8-under-par 64 in the second round. "It's going to be awesome if I qualify for 2024 LIV Golf," said Prateeptienchai, the winner of the recent Asian Tour Taiwan Glass Taifong Open. New Zealand's Ben Campbell was one of two players to miss out on the final three places in a five-man playoff that decided the last four spots in the Sunday field. Australian Associated Press
