A yoga instructor for close to 30 years who runs regular health and wellness programs at Moorland Hall, Stacey is also a committed practitioner of the Japanese healing system, reiki.
Falling into the broader category of alternative medicine, reiki is based on an approach of "energy healing" which is transferred through the palms of the practitioner to the patient, encouraging emotional and physical healing.
For Stacey, her introduction to the practice came at a time where she was looking for all the help she could summon.
"I was laying in a hospital bed after I'd just been told I had cancer and I was using my yoga breathing and relaxation techniques trying to keep on top of it," Stacey said.
"So I got in touch with a friend who is a reiki Master and he just helped add that to the mix, which was really helpful at the time, and with it I could just lay there and relax while I had treatment."
According to the Better Health Channel - an online medical information service endorsed by the Victorian state government - the underlying philosophy of reiki is that if a person's energy is low, they are more likely to be unwell or stressed. If it is high they are more capable of being happy and feeling well.
The difference in people when they walk in to get treatment compared to when they walk out - it's just like they're floating out the room.

It is important to note that reiki will not cure illnesses or disease, however it may help your body to feel more relaxed and peaceful, thereby assisting positive outcomes.
Operating within these parameters, reiki is finding its way into hospitals as a complementary therapy.
"It's a gentle form of healing and it can be healing something you've had for years - something in your conscious or subconscious mind, or it may be physical ailments," Stacey said.

Stacey is offering Detox Yoga and reiki sessions to be held on the fourth Sunday of each month, apart from April, which will be run on a Thursday, April 25 (Anzac Day).
