Andrue Maxwell Tisdell, 24, of Wingham Road appeared in the Port Macquarie Local Court on August 20.
The accused did not apply for bail and it was refused.
Magistrate Georgina Darcy remanded Tisdell to the Sydney Supreme Court on October 2, 2020.
The body of 41-year-old Beauchamp was found alight by Rural Fire Service volunteers in the Yarrat State Forest, just west of Taree on December 27, 2018.
A post mortem examination revealed Mr Beauchamp had been seriously assaulted before his body was taken to the area and set on fire.
Police said the victim's hands and teeth had been removed before being set alight in an attempt to cover up his murder.
A second man charged over his involvement in the murder also fronted the Port Macquarie Local Court on August 20, 2020.
Austin Parrish, 20, of Frances Street, has pleaded guilty to concealing a serious indictable offence.
Two other charges, being an accessory after the fact and hindering the discovery of evidence to a serious indictable offence, were withdrawn.
Parrish remains on bail.
He will be sentenced in the Taree District Court on October 12, 2020.
