A reminder that Lansdowne School will be celebrating their 150 years in September 2020. Looking for photos, memorabilia and information for the event. There is a Facebook page, "Friends of Lansdowne Public School" which you can join.
Looking for past students, teachers and staff. The school is hoping for a big turn out to celebrate this big event.

Pop-up shop
Shirley J Haines is inviting the Lansdowne community and anyone else who would like to attend her pop-up shop, "The Secret Door" official opening on Saturday, October 26. You will find a lot of new and upcycled pieces of bric a brac and other lovely items.
Located inside the local shop and post office, it's in a quirky and tiny room that was used as a store room. Shirley has beautified the room along with the help of some lovely locals.
There will be drinks and nibbles, while you browse the wares. Let her know on Facebook if you are attending for catering purposes.
Fishing club
The Lansdowne fishing club will be holding its seafood raffles tomorrow Saturday, October 19 at the Lansdowne Bowling and Recreation Club. There will be 10 seafood trays, 10 meat trays and plus their $40 supporters' tray.
The fishing club will be holding its annual general meeting on October 26.
2020 art show
The next Lansdowne Community Hall's art show will be held on May 2 and 3, 2020.
The art show which was held earlier this year was such a success that the committee decided to run another show next year. Organisers will be getting together soon to start planning the event and the programs so there will be more information in my column in the next few weeks.
Community hall markets
The next Lansdowne Community Hall markets will be held on Saturday, November 30.
The market is held inside the hall and in the surrounding grounds outside the hall.
This is our special market where we have a free morning tea for those who attend the market and for the stall holders.
As usual we will have lots of stalls with various and wonderful items for sale especially Christmas gifts items that would be just right to put under the Christmas tree.
Heath Watts will be there playing his beautiful music. Ron will be there cooking up a storm on the barbecue.
So, come along and support our hall and our very friendly market and sit down to a lovely free morning tea, listen to beautiful music, then have a walk around the stalls and on your way out purchase your lunch from the barbecue.
If you are interested in booking a stall especially inside the hall, please book as soon as possible. There is plenty of room for outside stalls and you can have your car with you. For bookings and further information please phone Margaret on 6556 7146.
The Lansdowne Community Hall committee is planning to hold a "twilight market" in February next year. A date will be organised at the hall's next monthly meeting.
They will also be holding a garage sale in December this year. A date for that will also be decided at the next meeting.
Have some "stuff" to sell? Book a table for $5, or sell your "stuff" from the car boot or trailer for $5 per vehicle. If you only have a couple of items for sale, we'll sell them for you at 10 per cent commission - all care, no responsibility! You will need to deliver items to hall and pick them up if not sold.
Phone Margaret for further information or bookings on 6556 7146.
Due to unforeseen circumstances the hall has cancelled the Melbourne Cup luncheon for this year.
