Tenpin Bowling Australia's investment in Suncity Bowl as its new national high performance centre will pay off when 750 of the world's best gather for the IBF World Cup and Para Bowling World Cup in November.
A long-time star of the US's high-profile PBA circuit, Belmonte has firmed as the main attraction in a rare home appearance.
Recent World Games champion Sam Cooley and 2019 women's world champion Bec Whiting also loom as key additions for the hosts.
Competitors will play individually and as part of a four-person mixed team, with Australian officials keen to impress as they push for the sport's inclusion in Brisbane's 2032 Olympic Games.
"(The event) is in very safe hands with Tenpin Bowling Australia who have shown phenomenal commercial awareness and have grown as a national federation during the global pandemic," IBF interim president Martin Faba said.
"This is a great opportunity for bowling and the growth of the sport from grass roots to elite in Australia with both the Commonwealth Games 2026 and Brisbane 2032 part of the legacy strategy."
