The Australian Electoral Commission has deregistered Fred Nile's Christian Democratic Party.
The Christian Democratic Party, known as the Fred Nile Group, has been struck off the federal political party register.

The Australian Electoral Commission said the party had been deregistered because it did not meet the required 1500 members.
The AEC said the party had not responded to a notice sent to it.
Under electoral laws, in order for a party to be registered at a federal level it must either have 1500 members or a current member of the federal parliament.
