Grant applications are very competitive and learning how to prepare and write your application will give you a better chance of success, MidCoast Council growth, economic development and tourism manager, Deb Tuckerman says.
Early next month MidCoast Council will conduct a series of free grant writing workshops across the region.
Accessing grants can provide long lasting benefits to communities by providing a financial boost to local community groups, event organisers and businesses, Ms Tuckerman says.
The workshops have been designed to help participants improve their grant writing skills.
The free and informative sessions will assist participants to identify funding opportunities, learn language specific to grant applications, and provide tips to improve the chances of receiving funding.

"Attendees said that it was an excellent learning opportunity and they benefited from networking with like-minded community groups and organisations."
The workshops will be led by Keith Whelan from The Grants Guy.
Mr Whelan worked closely with council to create the Grants Hub, a website dedicated to helping residents locate suitable grants and write winning applications.
The free workshops will be held:
- Wingham and Gloucester, Monday, February 7;
- Taree, Tuesday, February 8;
- Forster, Wednesday, February 9, and
- Tea Gardens, Thursday, February 10.
Should COVID restrictions affect face-to-face meetings, workshops will be conducted via Zoom.
