Rough seas earlier made outside fishing difficult, but in the past three days the sea has calmed down and been quite acceptable for boats.
There have been a few snapper caught from the northern grounds but very little else has made it to the fish boxes.
The same applies to the beaches and rocks.
The fresh is continuing come down the river. On the run-in tide the water is clearing a bit at Harrington but the water is still dirty on the run-out.
No reports of catches in the river have come in and it seems that the rain will continue to fall in the catchment area for at least another week.
When the rain stops then the dirty water coming down the river will abate. It could take a couple of weeks for the fishing to get back to normal.
