Recent surveys by ecologists found that this area has the highest recorded densities of koalas in all of NSW.
"We know that we can help this species by providing more habitat and linking existing vegetation patches to allow them to move freely across the landscape," A spokesperson for HLLS said.
HLLS is seeking landholders who wish to revegetate three hectares or greater with HLLS offering funding support for fencing, plants and a planting contractor.
As well as providing habitat for koalas, revegetation will provide other benefits to landowners such as shade for stock, increased water retention, carbon sequestration and increased biodiversity and ecosystem services to your property.
The program is completely voluntary and LLS staff will be on hand to assist with advice, planning and funding support.
In setting aside an area of your land to become habitat, you can help koalas on the journey to recovery following the bushfires of 2019-2020.
Expressions of interest must be received no later than December 7, 2021 and can be submitted here.
