A TOTAL of 93 entries have been received for Saturday's regatta to be hosted by Manning River Rowing Club from 58 athletes representing eight clubs
Large numbers have been accepted in the men's masters single scull, women's masters double scull and the men's seeded single scull with divisions required for these events
Manning rowers Joshua McPhellamy, Hunter Chapman, Rian Watkins and Noah Evans will make their racing debut when they take their place in the men's seeded quad scull at 8.20am
Tara Copp will combine with Ava Sharpe in the women's seeded double scull.
These junior members have come through the Manning Valley Anglican College rowing program, which was interrupted initially by the damage sustained to the rowing club when the mini cyclone hit in March 2019, then COVID followed by the flood in March 2021. This has kept the rowers off the water for an extended period, however their enthusiasm has been pleasing, with coach Warren Steedman happy with progress.
