A man has been charged with murder after a woman was found dead in Bulga Forest on the State's Mid North Coast at the weekend.

About 11.30am on Saturday, September 18, emergency services responded to reports of a woman being located deceased in a cabin on Pole Dump Forest Road, Bulga Forest.
Officers from Manning Great Lakes Police District secured a crime scene and started an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of the 34-year-old woman.
As a result of those inquiries, a 38-year-old man, who was known to the woman, was arrested by detectives at a home on Killawarra Street, Wingham about 5pm on Tuesday, September 21.
He was taken to Taree Police Station where he was charged with murder.
He was refused bail and will appear in Taree Local Court today (Wednesday 22 September).
