Port Macquarie is a confirmed site for a Taco Bell restaurant. Opening is planned at this stage in the first quarter of 2022.
A Taco Bell spokesperson said they would look to employ around 80 team members for Port Macquarie including four management staff. Recruitment will begin towards the end of 2021.
The fast food restaurant with a drive-through is part of a larger project, which has development consent, at 128 Hastings River Drive, development application plans show.
A caravan park has been demolished to allow for the construction of a service station, food and drink premises and car park.
Taco Bell has six restaurants in NSW and 22 across Australia.
Traffic control was in place after a Taco Bell restaurant opened on August 26 in Tamworth due to the new store's popularity.
Taco Bell is not the only fast food chain with plans to open in Port Macquarie.
There is development consent for a Guzman y Gomez Mexican Kitchen outlet at the Port Macquarie Service Centre.
The demolition of a building, which was formerly home to Subway, will make way for a purpose-built store with dual drive-through for Guzman y Gomez Mexican Kitchen at the highway service centre.
