Police have reiterated their message for people to stay at home, citing an instance of a person from Blacktown visiting Forster "for a holiday" recently.

Deputy Commissioner Mick Willing, Regional NSW Field Operations, said in a media conference today (Monday) police are receiving hundreds of calls to Crimestoppers everyday reporting people in breach of the stay-at-home orders in force in the state-wide lockdown. The Forster visitor was one of these reported last week.
A further 16 community cases of COVID-19 were diagnosed in Hunter New England Local Health District (HNEH) in the 24 hours to 8pm Sunday night.
This brings the total number of cases in the district to 120 since August 5. Of the 16 new cases:
- Two are associated with aged care facilities. Eleven are family or household contacts and linked to previously reported cases and three are still under investigation
- Eight are in the Maitland local government area (LGA), five are in the Newcastle LGA, two are in the Lake Macquarie LGA and one is in the Port Stephens LGA.
- Six were infectious while in the community and one is still under investigation. The remaining cases were in isolation throughout their infectious period, or residents of the aged care facility.
Hunter New England Population Health Public Health Physician, Dr David Durrhaim said HNEH is contacting close contacts of all confirmed cases and directing them to be tested and to self-isolate for 14 days from last contact, regardless of the result.

A number of new close and casual contact venues were confirmed in the Newcastle and Maitland area overnight.
Anyone who attended any of these new venues listed on the specified dates and times are close contacts and must get tested and isolate for 14 days.
- The Redeemed Christian Church of God, City of David, Newcastle anytime between 31 July and 15 August
Anyone who attended any of these new venues listed on the specified dates and times are casual contacts (unless they have been contacted by NSW Health as close contacts) and must get tested and isolate until a negative test result is received.

Anyone with cold or flu-like symptoms such as fever, sore throat, cough or shortness of breath, is urged to get tested. Even those with mild symptoms such as fatigue, new muscle aches or pains, a change in taste or smell or a new runny nose should arrange testing as quickly as possible.
Hunter New England Health continues to urge eligible people to come forward for vaccination (providing they are not cases, contacts of cases, are not isolating and do not have symptoms). People can check their eligibility and make bookings via the Commonwealth Government's eligibility checker.
