The walkway and bridge is the first part of the Figtrees on the Manning development.
The new bridge links the Bicentennial Gardens to Nelson/ Pitt Street at Chatham and is part of a larger project to create a continuous pedestrian/cycle path from Harry Bennett Park on the south of the Martin Bridge, through to the Taree Recreation Grounds, the Manning Aquatic Centre and the Manning Entertainment Centre.
