Work will start on Sunday, August 8 and includes installing scaffold and preparation for steel repairs and painting.
To reduce impact to motorists, work will be carried out from 7pm to 5am and is expected to be completed over five nights, weather permitting.
Traffic will be reduced to one lane on Martin Bridge during work hours with a single lane closure, stop/slow traffic arrangements and a 40km/h speed limit in place which may affect travel times.
Access to and from Taree will be maintained while work is carried out with no detours required.
Motorists are advised to allow extra travel time, drive to the conditions, and follow the directions of signs and traffic control.
Transport for NSW thanks motorists for their patience during this time.
