The duration of full bridge closures and detours previously advised has been reduced, with Transport for NSW now carrying out work which includes repairs to the steel truss, replacing overhead bracing along the full length of the bridge and carrying out bird proofing.
To reduce impact to motorists, work will be carried out overnight from 7pm to 5am on Tuesday 15, Wednesday 16 and Thursday 17 June, and is expected to be completed by 5am on Friday 18 June, weather permitting.
Full overnight bridge closures will be required from 10pm to 5am each shift, with detours in place via Cundletown and the Pacific Highway.
Closures of Dawson River Bridge will not be scheduled at the same time as closures of Martin Bridge.
During the night work, lane closures, stop/slow traffic arrangements and a 40km/h speed limit will be in place until 10pm and may affect travel times. Detours due to bridge closures will add up to 20 kilometres to journeys or around 20 minutes travel time.
Motorists are advised to allow extra travel time, drive to the conditions, and follow the directions of signs and traffic control.
Transport for NSW thanks motorists for their patience during this time.
