Coco, who has only just turned 13 years old, was entered into nine sections, and won all of them bar two, which she placed second in. Three of the wins were championships.
Coco also picked up two special awards: the Local Point Score Schultz First National Perpetual Trophy (for being the highest local point scorer), and the Open Classical Aggregate 12 Years and Under Perpetual Trophy.
"I was super excited to have been awarded those placings consistently by the adjudicator with such strong sections," Coco said.
Coco's mother, Sheena O'Doherty is naturally very proud of her daughter.
"She works very hard and it's lovely to see her get good results," she said.
Coco has lessons at the Andrea Rowsell Academy of Dance in Taree and has been dancing since she was two and a half years old.
She has been competing at the Taree and District Eisteddfod since she was five years old. She also competes at the Port Macquarie Eisteddfod and the Sydney Eisteddfod, which is the biggest ballet competition in the Southern Hemisphere.
At Sydney Coco got first place in the modern 2019 (there was no eisteddfod in 2020 due to the pandemic). She consistently receives high commendeds and placings in each of the sections each year at Sydney.
If I was in another world and everything would work I love to go to Royal Ballet.
Last year Coco auditioned for the Queensland Ballet Academy Associates Program and was accepted. This means she trains at the Queensland Ballet Academy in Brisbane for one week each school term.
"I love it so much," she said. "I love the way they work, how everything's done so slowly. It's very precise and I'm always sore after every class."
Coco competes in modern, jazz and contemporary, but her favourite is classical ballet. Her dream role would be to dance the lead role in Giselle.
Coco says she wants to be a professional ballet dancer when she leaves school
"If I was in another world and everything would work I love to go to Royal Ballet. Realistically, I would love to go to Queensland Ballet," she said.
