"We sit, knit, plot, have a yarn and a cuppa and bear witness to the war against the greedy, short-sighted corporations that are trying to rape our land and divide our communities," its website says.
Last Friday, May 7 a handful of members stood outside the empty Tuncurry office of Stephen Bromhead trying to persuade the MP for Myall Lakes to embrace their enthusiasm for change.
"We know Mr Bromhead is not here, but this is symbolic," Wingham member, Helen Kvelde said.
For a number of years they have been 'protesting' outside Federal member, David Gillespie's Taree office, now they are doubling their efforts to include State politicians.
"We decided the State government is just as culpable with damage to the planet and climate as the Federal government," Ms Kvelde said.

In the relatively short time Ms Kvelde has lived in the Mid Coast region she had noticed a shift in residents' ideas about climate change and were becoming more aware the situation was escalating to serious.
"We believe we are living in a climate emergency and we need to tell politicians we need their support," former Great Lakes councillor, Linda Gill said.
The Nannas selected a Friday for their monthly 'protest' in a show of solidarity and support for young climate change activist, Greta Thunberg's Fridays for Future movement.
"We stand for the young and the future," Ms Gill said.
Ms Gill said there was a concern the Federal government had planned to fund the gas industry through the construction of infrastructure using public funds.
"They say it (gas) is cleaner than coal when it is not," she said.
"Gas is destructive and more so than coal.
"They make it sound okay by being natural when fracking destroys the soil profile and aquifers; it is a great threat to the Great Artesian Basin."
The Knitting Nannas will be supporting the Friday, May 21 School Strike 4 Climate Australia being held from 9.30am to noon in John Holland Park, Forster.
