The hay was donated by a generous farmer from Woolooma in the Scone area, who had done it tough through the drought and himself received help with Rural Aid, but is now enjoying a better season and is 'paying it forward'.
"Farmers have always helped farmers, but everyone's copped it so hard in the last few years that they haven't got enough to help themselves let alone help each other," Rural Aid counsellor, Gary Bentley said.

"This region's been hit particularly hard with the floods, so we're happy to be able to be on the ground and help. And it's only through the generosity of our donors - we rely on it."
Bushell's were the sponsors of this hay drop, and Gary was handing out boxes of tea and the chance for farmers to talk about what they have been going through to the people there to collect their hay.
"There's a great demand for mental health services at the moment and there will always be because the full impact of disaster doesn't hit until the disaster has passed. That's when people really fall apart or feel the pressure. We're happy to be able to help them when they need help."
Two of the farmers there to pick up some much needed feed for their herd were Sandra and Michael Macbeth of Pampoolah.
"It's just fantastic," Sandra said. "We've lost 100 bales of silage through the floods. The feed (on the paddocks) is stagnant and still very wet. We need this dry feed."
Gary encourages primary producers who need help to register with Rural Aid.
"It doesn't take much to register, it's quite easy to do online or by phone, and if they register we can help them with our suite of services. If they don't register, we don't know they're out there and we can't help them," he said.
