The minor premier will go straight to the grand final and will host the match. Second will play third for the other spot.
"With only five teams in the men's comp and four in the women's this looks like the best way to go,'' Ratz coach Jake Maurirere said.
"It'll mean there'll be something riding on all the games and it will make winning the minor premiership more important.''
The Ratz, Forster, Wallamba, Wauchope and Old Bar will contest the men's premiership, with Wallamba, Wauchope, Gloucester, the Ratz involved in the women's 10s.
At this stage the Ratz still don't have a field following a fire that badly damaged the clubhouse at Taree Rugby Park. Maurirere said club officials are looking at alternate venue if the club is unable to play matches at home.
