Heather is passionate about the shop and is committed to making it a space where customers want to come and shop, ensuring only the top-quality goods make it to the shelves.
"It is amazing to see Heather passion for the shop and the work that she and the volunteers put into making it a great place to be," said marketing coordinator Lisa Willows.
As part of the shop's social enterprise strategy, Heather plans to expand the current small volunteer team, and is currently looking for people who are interested in lending a hand.
"There are so many benefits to volunteering. It can bring purpose to your life, increase feelings of wellbeing and self-esteem. It can relieve stress and improve relationships, all while positively impacting on your community," said Heather.
The shop has been operating for 30 years in Taree and has become a key part of the community.
"This shop only exists thanks to the generosity of the local community. When you donate your good quality, pre-loved items to our shop, the proceeds are being used to fund the 24-hour Lifeline Crisis Support line, 13 11 14, as well as local suicide prevention and awareness programs," says Lisa.
"Shopping at Lifeline makes you truly feel as though you've taken an active step to help save lives," says Heather.
Heather intends to focus on building the volunteer base and focus on stock being priced appropriately.
