The Wingham Akoostik Festival is set to return to the Wingham Showground from October 15-17.
The popular three day event was last year changed to an online livestream due to COVID-19 concerns but organisers are feeling more hopeful for 2021.
"We're feeling positive," Donna Ballard, Akoostik organiser said.
"We're glass half full kind of people and we decided we'll do it."
Making a decision on whether the event would go ahead became a matter of priority for the organisers who are hoping to start announcing the line up later this month.
"We would be doing a disservice to the artists if we didn't let them know now," said Donna.
With many of the artists starting to tour again Donna wanted to ensure they were locked in for Wingham in October.
It seems the lineup hasn't changed from last year with all the artists still "happy to play" although who they all are is yet to be properly announced.
Most of the other details for the festival will remain the same as previous years despite some talk of the festival changing location.
"We'll still be at the showground as people have told us they love to be able to camp there," said Donna who admits it is not the time to be making big changes.
"There's enough uncertainty in what we're doing we wanted to keep as much of it the same as we can."
The uncertainty of course is the ever changing pandemic situation.
Donna said they will follow government guidelines regarding the event and are planning with flexibility.
Current NSW guidelines allow for 3000 people to attend an outdoors event outside of Greater Sydney.
Of course this can change at any time but Donna and the team have a contingency plan in place.
"If we have to scale it back we'll do so in order of ticket purchase," she said.
In other words, get in quickly to buy your tickets when they go on sale at Easter.
