Current president David Denning said he was delighted to announce that member Susie Ploder will take over from him in June 2021.
The club was founded in Taree in May 1937 and has a long and distinguished history in the Manning Valley. Mrs Ploder said she is looking forward to leading the club in its 85th year.
There is an exciting year ahead. Mrs Ploder will assume office on June 25 at the club's changeover dinner attended by the district governor Debbie Loveday.
During the preceding week, on June 16, the club, along with other local Rotary clubs, will host Sir General Peter and Lady Cosgrove at Club Taree to celebrate 100 years of Rotary in Australia.
In September club members will attend the 35th anniversary dinner of sister club, the Rotary Club of Okayama Chuo in Japan, via Zoom.
It is hoped the Rotary Club of Okayama Chuo will be able to visit Taree in May 2022 for the Rotary Club of Taree's 85th anniversary dinner.
