The AFLW held off confirming a schedule beyond round two due to COVID-19 cases across Australia forcing changes to matches.
But the winless Cats are locked-in to host the resurgent Bulldogs at GMHBA Stadium on Friday night.
Pre-season premiership fancies Carlton will be desperate to get their season back on track after two successive defeats when they play St Kilda at RSEA Park on Saturday.
Later on Saturday, Melbourne will take on North Melbourne at Casey Fields in a battle of the undefeated teams.
But the game of the round will take place on Sunday when Adelaide host Fremantle at Norwood.
This game was meant to take place last weekend, but Perth's five-day lockdown made staging that too problematic.
It could be an early grand final preview, with the Crows two-time premiers and the Dockers coming off an undefeated 2020 campaign before the season was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
AFLW boss Nicole Livingstone said the league had to adapt and respond to changing health conditions across the country.
"These continue to be unprecedented times and the fixture this year will continue to respond to and reflect the situation across country," Ms Livingstone said.
"While COVID-19 continues to impact the community, the health and welfare of our players and the community remains the priority and we remain committed to delivering a full season in a safe manner.
"On behalf of the AFL, I want to thank all clubs, players and the AFLPA, umpires, venues (and) governments."
