At 6.30pm on Sunday, January 24, a 45-year-old man and his 41-year-old partner were sitting at their home on Nowendoc Road, Mount George, before they were notified by CCTV camera footage that a man was walking onto the premises.
They walked to the front of the premises to greet the 28-year-old man, who was known to them.
A brief conversation in relation to the CCTV cameras soon turned into an argument where the 28-year-old man verbally threatened the couple.
The man then pulled out two hunting knives, about 45cm long, and placed them on a nearby trailer.
The 45-year-old resident slowly moved away before the 28-year-old man man picked up the knives again. He began waving them at the resident and threatened harm.
Intimidated by the actions, the woman grabbed their dog, ran inside the house and locked the door while her partner told the 28-year-old to leave.
The offender then threatened the male resident with harm if police were called.
Police were contacted, attended, spoke with all parties involved and viewed CCTV footage of the incident.
The offender admitted to threatening the couple and the hunting knives connected to the offences were seized.
The man was arrested and taken to Taree Police Station where he was charged with being armed with intent to commit an indictable offence, intimidation, drug possession and breach of bail.
He was refused bail to face Taree Local Court on Monday, January 25.
