Prior to the big seas, snapper were the main species being caught from the northern ground.
The beaches have not fared much better.
The southern end of Crowdy Beach and the walls of Crowdy Head have been the best places to fish.
Bream have been caught from the beach while tailor have been landed on bait and lures from the rock walls at the boat harbour.
Early morning and late afternoon are the best times for tailor.
The harbour at Crowdy has produced plenty of luderick on weed during the day.
In the estuary, bream and flathead are still on the bite.
The area of the river wall, above where the spur wall used to be, has fished well for these species.
Some good catches for flathead have come from the back water on plastics.
Whiting have been taking worms and lures from the spit and in the back water.
The lagoon has also fished well for flathead on bait.
