About 10.35pm on Sunday, January 10, officers attached to Manning Great Lakes Police District pulled over a motor vehicle on Commerce Street, Taree.
A 35-year-old Wingham man was seated in the rear passenger side of the vehicle with a backpack in the footwell. The man stated he was the owner of the backpack.
Officers searched the backpack and allegedly located an electronic controlled device likened to a cattle prod or homemade taser.
The passenger admitted ownership of the device and was charged.
Meanwhile, a man faced Maitland Local Court on a string of charges following his arrest in Tuncurry.
About 9.45am on Friday, January 8, officers attended a Tuncurry Street address after receiving information about a possible wanted man at the location.
Following a search of the premises, officers located a 22-year-old Raymond Terrace man in a clothing cupboard concealed by clothes.
The man was arrested and taken to Forster Police Station where he was charged with taking and driving a conveyance, larceny, robbery armed with an offensive weapon, stealing from a person and dangerous driving while failing to stop in a police pursuit.
He was refused bail to face court.
