Lovely rain at last, but it has been a long time coming, as per usual.

My rain gauge here in Chatham, since the sprinkles began some days ago, as of late Tuesday afternoon (December 15) has intercepted on the way down now a total so far of 150mms, or for those like me who are not totally decimalised, that is six inches in what I call plain Ozzie English!
Good soaking showers to begin with which would have soaked in like a sponge, followed up with heavier showers which hopefully got the creeks flowing again and provided some runoff to fill farmers' dams and household water tanks.
Not so good for outdoor workers, or the Postie on his or her motor bike, but that is the way the ball bounces as they say unfortunately.
This weather reminds me of what we sometimes used to get at and around Taree`s famous Aquatic Festival. Remember?
