The Manning River Lions Club is hoping for a good roll up of stalls and members of the public coming to pick up a Christmas bargain.
Owing to the coronavirus, the club was not able to run the monthly market since February.
This has been a disappointment to the club, the stallholders and the public who attend.
Manning River Lions Club has its own stall at the Hub Market selling a range of bric-a-brac with the proceeds being used to help the local community.
Over the 10 months without a market, the bric-a-brac continued to accumulate and the club was running out of storage space.
As a result, the club decided to run a garage sale at the old Hickman's Nursery on Wingham Road in October.
This was an unexpected success, with the public walking away with newly purchased treasures, Lions Christmas cakes and tickets in a car raffle.
The sale was so successful in fact, that the decision was made to hold another garage sale in November, this time incorporating a car boot sale and barbecue as well.
This second sale was also very successful and whilst only one car was present, that seller had a very pleasing morning.
Again, Lions Christmas cakes and car raffle tickets were very good sellers.
The raffle tickets raise money for the NSW/ACT Lions Save Sight Foundation and a car for only $1 is a bargain in anyone's language.
Manning River Lions Club wishes to thank Steve Pertzel from R&B Party Hire for his generous assistance and for allowing the garage sales to be held on his property.
