The workshops will culminate in a performance at the Manning Entertainment Centre in April 2021.
Contemporary dancer and choreographer Kristina Chan moved to Red Head just over two years ago, bringing with her more than 20 years of professional performance experience from around the world.
Thanks to the National Regional Arts Fellowship Program 2020, Kristina has developed RECOVER/CREATE 2021 for young people aged 10-24.
The series of workshops will take place at the Circartus studios in Wingham between February and April 2021 followed by a performance at the Manning Entertainment Centre.
"I really hope we can pull together a diverse group of people who will gain something from this," said Kristina.
Kristina is particularly looking for young people with a keen interest and enthusiasm for creative practice and performance making.
While no experience is necessary the call out is for people who have been affected by the devastating bushfires/drought in some capacity.
The participants will train and develop skills in movement, choreography, voice and contemporary performance.
Kristina said she will introduce methods and processes in creating personal story-telling performance work addressing the themes of the devastation, recovery and solidarity.
Over the past two decades Kristina has performed throughout Australia, Canada, UK, USA, Asia, Israel and Europe working with companies including Australian Ballet and Sydney Theatre Company.
