Amber was 13 at the time and has suffered anxiety, depression and trauma ever since.
Her solicitor Grant Avery of Stacks Law Firm made the following statement on Amber's behalf.
"The compensation awarded to Amber Arndell by the court for the shocking accident will help put her life in some sort of order as nine years later she is still suffering trauma and unable to live a normal life," Mr Avery said.
"Amber was only 13 on October 1, 2011 when a light plane crashed into the Ferris wheel she was riding in with her brother at the end the airstrip at Old Bar. The accident shattered her life. She went from being a bright and conscientious schoolgirl to being withdrawn and dropped out of school.
"Justice Rothman said she has been unsuccessful at holding down a job and the anxiety, depression and trauma caused by the plane crash is going to impact the rest of her life.
"Now aged 23, Amber is grateful to the court for the assistance the compensation system has provided in her life, but she says she would much rather the plane never crashed into the Ferris wheel on that terrible day," Mr Avery said.
