It may have been to 42 degrees Celsius in the equivalent pampered shade at the airport for most of the long day, Sunday at Taree, but as I have my outdoor thermometer probe out in the real world, in the unrelenting pure sunshine where most of the population have to venture and receive the heat direct from the sun, my device recorded a top of 49.7C. Taree had 50C at at least one stage last year.
