Rees and Wingham team-mate Ben Cole will be the only Manning players in the squad. Wingham is also the only Manning side in this season's Mid North Coast Premier League, although Mid North Coast Cricket Council chairman Paul Dilley assured all players in the council area, whether they be involved in the premier league or association competitions, were eligible for selection.
Unlike previous years when a round robin was played, Sunday's round will be a knockout. Macquarie Stingers face the formidable Newcastle Blasters on Sunday at 9am with Coffs Chargers will play Northern Rivers Rock in the other fixture, also at 9am. Winners clash in the final at Oxley Oval from 2pm.
Newcastle was added to this area's round this year to ensure NSW Health COVID-19 protocols were met.
However, rain is forecast for the area on Sunday and Mr Dilley said the games won't be rescheduled if there's a washout. He explained that last year's results would be the criteria and Coffs Harbour would progress to the finals at the SCG should there be no play.
Coffs Chargers will play Newcastle on Saturday in the women's round, where again Coffs will benefit if rain intervenes.
