For the second time in four days the Westpac Rescue Helicopter flew into Tinonee and landed on Tinonee's Bob Collier Oval last Wednesday, September 23 after sirens were heard. I believe it was another accident in the area, this time a motorcycle accident.

With the school holidays now taking place for a fortnight and the October long weekend thrown into the mix, authorities are asking everyone to take care, obey the road rules and speed limits and please stay safe.
The Wholesome Collective visit
On Thursday last, September 24, The Wholesome Collective visited the area and Tinonee School of Arts Hall was the venue for an interesting and informative healthy cooking demonstration all free of charge to participants.
Demonstrators were Mary, Kerryn and Michael who 'cooked up a storm' using healthy, fresh and readily available products using frypans. Those in attendance, totalling nine persons, were then treated to a taste test and at the end of the session received a free recipe book.
The collective is a 'not for profit' organisation which is supported by Hunter New England and Central Coast Primary Health Network and has been visiting the local Mid North Coast area having been to Bobin, Nabiac and Killabakh prior to coming to Tinonee.
Historical society meets
After eight months of closure and partial opening, Tinonee Historical Society held its first meeting - the 17th annual general meeting on Tuesday, September 29, and because of the COVID-19 restrictions, it was moved to the Tinonee hall to allow for social distancing etc. I hope to have a full report and more details in my notes next week.
Hall repairs and maintenance
Further maintenance works have been carried out on the Tinonee Memorial School of Arts Hall which included the removal and replacement of the roof guttering on the top side and rear of the hall.
This follows on from the replacement of the disabled ramp and leaves only the back steps from the stage to be replaced in the coming weeks.
This work has been carried out with the help of grant money from NSW Government and MidCoast Council for which the hall committee is very grateful.
