The 37-year-old former Taree boxer turned mixed martial artist (MMA) will challenge arguably one of the greatest women's world champions of all-time, Cris Cyborg, for the Bellator women's featherweight title on October 16 (Australian time).

This will Blencowe's second shot at the title after coming up short to Julia Budd in 2017. To many, the Cyborg match-up will be a near impossible task.

The Brazilian has lost just two contests in her career, won 18 of her 22 professional wins by KO or TKO and is a former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) women's featherweight champion.

Blencowe will bring a 13-7 record into the fight.

She won the 2013 Times sportstar award after winning the world WBA and WIBA lightweight boxing title. She was also one of the first Australian women to compete in Bellator, with her first fight in 2015.

Bellator is considered one of the world's premier MMA organisations, behind the UFC.
