Councillors unanimously voted to approve the development application for alterations to the existing pylon sign, subject to conditions.
The sign, located within the south-eastern corner of the site and orientated in a north/south direction, will be repainted to match the MidCoast Council corporate colour scheme.
The MidCoast Council corporate logo will occupy the top of the existing signage and advertising for the tenant of the cafe being established at the premises will occupy the bottom of the existing signage.
In the middle will be a digital screen that will be used to convey important community information and messaging (no advertising).
The digital screen will only operate between 6am and 8pm, and will have a built in ambient light sensor that adjusts the brightness of the screen based on the environmental light.
The brightness level is flexible, and the LUX output (a measure of illuminance, the total amount of light that falls on a surface) can be controlled manually or automatically.
