There are concerns that Lewis may have damaged his ACL and he could be sidelined for the remainder of the year.
"He went to step and went down like he'd been hit by a sniper,'' Wingham coach Paul Lewis - who is also Harry's father, said.
"It didn't look good. We'll have to wait for the result of scans now.''
The loss was Wingham's first for the year and relegates the Tigers to second place behind Macksville on the ladder with two matches remaining before the semi-finals.
Lewis said Wingham had plenty of chances but didn't finish them off. The Tigers were still in the contest when trailing 18-14 deep into the game before a try sealed the win for Macksville.
"We play Port City and Forster in the last two games,'' Lewis said.
"We'll be looking to win both of them and hopefully secure second spot on the ladder.''
A further incentive for Tigers is the fact the grand final will be at Wingham on September 27.
Lewis said his players are struggling to come to terms with the four quarter football, but added this is the same for all teams.
"It's hard to get momentum - we only play 13 minute quarters,'' he said.
Fullback JJ Gibson was again outstanding for the Tigers while second rower Will Gee and lock Kyle Leonard were also strong. Halfback Hayden Essery's kicking game was clever.
