Harrington Crowdy Head Chamber of Commerce president Cliff Hoare made this statement while inspecting the upgrade to Harrington's Beach Street with Federal MP Dr David Gillespie.
Federal funding of $500,000 has been invested in upgrading nearly 600-metres of the gateway into Harrington with a new asphalt surface between Pacific Place and Jabiru Drive.
"We're over the moon," Mr Hoare said. "You know we're a great place to shop, to visit, and the road works make it easier for everyone coming into town."
Dr Gillespie said MidCoast Council utilised funding provided through the Roads to Recovery program towards much-needed improvements to this important local road. "I'm delighted to see the completion of these works," he said.
"Local motorists, cyclists and visitors will certainly welcome this upgrade and I look forward to further improvements to the local road network in the future."
