The inshore waters are calm due to the westerlies, but out wide it is rough with the waves building up.
Flathead up to a kilo have been caught off Harrington while at Old Bar quality snapper have been boated.
Pearl Perch and kingfish have been landed out wide by those boats capable of handing the rough seas.
On the beaches salmon and tailor have been taken on lures and dead bait, while a mulloway of 17.5kgs gilled and gutted was caught at Diamond Head last Saturday.
In the estuary bream and whiting are on the bite and are still taking yabbies.
A couple of 80cm mulloway were caught on baits being used for bream.
The prospects for fishing this weekend look positive.
