The board has a plaque mounted on it stating it was erected in loving memory of John Wesley Martin. He was a former member, steward and elder of the church.
Johnny Martin, or 'The Fav' as he was better known, remains the Manning's only test cricketer.
In a first class career spanning from 1956-57 to 1967-68 Johnny played eight test matches for Australia and took 17 test wickets at 48.94.
Johnny made his test debut in the famous 1960-61 series against the Frank Worrell-led West Indies team. It was a memorable game, as Johnny dismissed three of the world's best batsmen, Rohan Kanhai, Garry Sobers and Frank Worrell in four balls. He also scored a half century.
He featured in 135 first class games and played Sheffield Shield for NSW and South Australia.
Johnny died at his beloved Burrell Creek on July 15, 1992, aged just 60.
"He was one of cricket's precious characters, whose skill was rare and whose attitude was just what the game has always needed,'' David Frith wrote in Johnny's obituary that appeared in Wisden Cricketers' Almanack.
Johnny was one of the well known Martin family of Burrell Creek.
The board was passed to the Manning Uniting Church from the family of the late Rev Bruce Spence.
The Manning Uniting Church presented the board to Vince Martin of Old Bar on behalf of the Martin family. Vince is Johnny's brother.
