FOR the women of Wallamba Football Club, Friday July 3 marked the first game of the belated 2020 season and also the chance to christen the new amenities block at the clubs home ground, Aub Ferris Sports Complex, in Nabiac.

There was a lot of expectation. A lot of community work has combined to get this done. To be the first team to play was great for us and for womens sport, said Christal Pearce, Wallamba FC president. Were very grateful to council and our local state member, Stephen Bromhead, for their assistance with this, she continued.
Also in attendance was Football Mid North Coast chairman, Mike Parsons, who welcomed all and updated the crowd on the potential for the area to host international teams in the lead-up to the Womens World Cup, which will come to Australia in 2023.

The game was won by Wingham, 4-0. Wallamba captain Kyrstie Berman graciously paid tribute to Wingham while also saying that our season is looking good, and we love playing here and welcoming teams, specially with our new facility.
