Australian Theatre For Young People is bringing theatre to your home - starring you! With help from the ATYP Foundation, they have commissioned 11 brilliant Australian playwrights to each write a five-minute script that you can download and perform with your family and friends (when visitors are allowed at your place of course or try it with your friends over Zoom!). Each script features 2-6 characters, with a mix of some young people and some adults. Anyone in your house can play any character - or multiple characters! There are no boundaries!

ATYP is a youth theatre organisation with three central aspirations: to be indisputably recognised nationally and globally as a leading theatre company that fearlessly champions young artists. To deliver inclusive opportunities that connect young people with the professional theatre industry. To be a leading advocate for youth arts and its' social impact.
Want to star on their YouTube channel? Your filmed masterpiece can be featured on the ATYP YouTube channel and other social media. If you'd like to participate, simply: (1) Download the script you like. (2) Read the play! (3) Rehearse with whoever you'd like in your video. (4) Film your piece in landscape format (you can use a phone) - and get creative! We want to see how you bring the piece to life!
Send your piece to atyp@atyp.com.au as a high-res video file using WeTransfer. Head to the Manning Entertainment Centre facebook page for links to the ATYP page. You can then watch your masterpiece on the internet! By entering you could win one of these awesome prizes: $150 prepaid Visa card, a Term 3 workshop place, or a ATYP script bundle. Entries close July 17. Winners announced July 22. Happy filming!
