Whether you love a film or have kids who delight in children's shows, we always strive to present a diverse program that will appeal to many MidCoast patrons.
We're interested in what the arts are to YOU, and your ideas about how we can work towards a bright cultural future for the MidCoast. After the recent floods, fires and pandemic, cultural identity and community ties are more important than ever.
We'd love to hear your thoughts! We want to start a conversation with you about how culture and creativity can help build stronger communities on the MidCoast! Council is developing a Cultural Plan to strengthen our creative community and invigorate our local economy.
The cultural plan is a roadmap for supporting and celebrating arts, culture and creativity in our everyday lives. It will describe the current situation, identify what matters to our community, where improvements can be made and how we can get there in the future.
If you head to the MidCoast Council website and enter "Cultural Plan" in the search bar, you'll be directed to an information page and a dropdown menu named "provide feedback". Using the 'digital ideas map' you can tell us about your special places, share your stories, identify what might need a spruce up and any big ideas for the future. Alos, we'd love you to share your thoughts by doing one of two surveys. One is shorter and will only take 5 minutes, and the other lets you go into more detail if you have the time. You'll also find quick links to the page on our facebook page and that of the Manning Regional Art Gallery.
Feedback provided by the community, via the surveys available online, will help Council prepare a plan that aims to build stronger communities and enhance the creative and cultural life of residents, workers and visitors.
A summary of community ideas from this round of engagement, along with other feedback already received from the MidCoast community, will be presented in the draft Cultural Plan to be published in August 2020.
