With a Forestry Corporation of NSW ban on event permits until July 1, competition organisers decided this event, slated for July 18, would be the best place to start.
However, the resumption of the season at Bulahdelah will be dependent on the easing of mass gathering restrictions by the federal and State governments.
The competition would require at least 400 people per event. This would be officials, drivers and service crews.
Taking into consideration step three of the federal government's 'framework for a COVID safe Australia' which would only allow 100 people to gather, it wouldn't be feasible for rounds of the series, or other motorsport events across the country, to continue.
In terms of AMSAG events, about 20 teams, including drivers, a navigator and a two-person service crew, would be able to attend.
At this stage, rounds scheduled for later in the year will proceed as normal. Postponed events, such as the opening rounds at Rosewood and Orange, are set to be rescheduled once dates are finalised.
This also applies for the opening rounds of the Rallysprint series in Kendall and Coopernook.
AMSAG president Michael Bannon said competitors will be kept in the loop as the season rolls on.
"We are just as keen to get out into the forests as everyone else is at the moment, however nothing can proceed until the restrictions in place allow us to conduct an event properly and safely for all concerned," he said.
"For now please stay safe, stay healthy and keep working on those cars."
Rally NSW is yet to confirm changes to the State championship. It's hoped the inaugural Bulahdelah round will still go ahead.
