Taree RSL Sub-branch president Charlie Fisher is confident Manning residents will turnout in droves to the 2021 Taree Anzac Day ceremony after this year's march and service was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Each year Victoria Street is surrounded by thousands of people paying their respects to fallen diggers.
This year however, it was just Mr Fisher, Sub-branch secretary Ted Hill, Member for Myall Lakes Stephen Bromhead and Member for Lyne Dr David Gillespie who held a wreath laying ceremony at the war memorial.
Taree High School students were also present to lay a wreath.
At dawn, hundreds of residents stood on their driveways or at their gates with candles to commemorate the day.
Mr Fisher had an Australian flag and a wreath outside his home.
He played The Last Post and Reveille at dawn while neighbours stood outside with candles.
Mr Hill also played The Last Post and Reveille in Taree West which was welcomed by the neighbourhood.
The Sub-branch hopes to hold a large Remembrance Day service at Taree War Memorial in November.
"That would be great to get us started again," Mr Fisher said.
