With the stressors of the increased cost of living, the drought, the bushfires/floods and now COVID-19 affecting local communities, applicant numbers are increasing and so is the financial burden on clients who are impacted by cancer.
CAMV offers financial assistance for anyone living the Manning MidCoast region who has a current diagnosis of cancer and who has received conventional cancer treatment in the last 12 months.
CAMV makes contributions towards utility bills (electricity, water, gas, phone, rent or council rates), travel expenses (fuel vouchers) to assist with the cost of travel to and from treatments, the cost of groceries (food vouchers) and vehicle maintenance (car registration, insurance or repairs).
Contributions towards covering the gap after Medicare and health fund claims on medical costs (cancer related medication, hospital or scan fees for Medicare approved treatments, hiring of medical equipment) can also be made.
CAMV has supported approximately 450 families in the 7.5 years since inception.

The committee is a dedicated team of volunteers who are based in Taree and appreciate that cancer in regional areas is costly.
Cancer patients can pay up to five times more to access treatment than patients living in metropolitan areas.
CAMV takes pride in the fact that all fundraising proceeds stay in the region. There are no administration fees.
Unfortunately the Mother's Day High Tea for this year had to be cancelled due to COVID-19 restrictions but you can check out the CanAssistManningValleyBranch Facebook page later in the year for upcoming events.
