Due to the postponement of this event Phil Lindfield was no longer available and was replaced by Kym Wakefield (Leagues). They were up against Shannon White's team from Forster.
The Leagues team hit the ground running in this semi, and after nine ends had established a 12-2 lead. They kept building on this and extended this to 21-8 after 16 ends.
The Forster team then staged a comeback to trail by just three shots with two ends to play. Leagues won both of these ends to wrap up the first semi.
The second semi also saw a change in the team skipped by Steve Harris (Tuncurry Beach) with Steve Swan substituting for Les Wilmott. The were up against Mark Boyd's team from Bulahdelah. The Tuncurry team raced out of the blocks to lead 13-0 after just eight ends. Bulahdelah lifted their game after that, but were unable to make any inroads with the final score being 26-13.
The final saw Robert Austin, Warren Cocksedge and Kym Wakefield (Leagues) playing Steve Swan, Dave Richardson and Steve Harris (Tuncurry Beach).
This was a match played in two sections. The first half was so close, with hardly a shot between the sides. They were tied at 9-9 after nine ends, Tuncurry led 12-10 after 12 ends, Leagues came back to lead 13-12 after 14 ends.
It was anyone's game to win. Then Tuncurry won eight successive ends, scoring 14 shots in the process. Of those eight ends, six were singles. From leading 13-12, Leagues now found themselves trailing 13-26 and with just three ends remaining this lead was insurmountable. Tuncurry ran out comfortable 26-14 winners.
