Kari Smith took these photos at her Wingham property in September 2019 and yesterday (February 7) to show what would happen when consistent rain fell.
On the left, nothing but dirt and dust as a result of the prolonged drought.
On the right, lush green grass brought back to life by a decent downpour.
This is certainly welcome news to Mid Coast residents who have endured the long dry spell. Not to mention the impacts of the bushfire crisis.
Dams are filling up across the area while the river systems have gained a reprieve.
Water restrictions were wound back to level two on Friday, February 7
The Bootawa storage is about 72 per cent capacity, with council continuing to pump when water is clean enough.
These restrictions mean residents can use handheld hoses for up to 30 minutes every second day, before 9am or after 4pm.
