Sponsored by the Lions and MidCoast Council, it will commence with a sausage sizzle from 7am in the Old Bar beach park.
The official ceremony will begin at 8am and MC, Mal Ladmore, will preside. There will be a flag raising, the National Anthem and local identity, Ian Dimmock, will deliver the Australia Day address and lead the affirmation.
There will also be addresses by Old Bar school leaders, Olivia Mather and Chelsea Davies, as well as musical items by Charmaine Donohue.
The event will conclude with the announcement of the Old Bar Citizen of the Year by Lion Ian Hoye.
Let's support our Lions Club and be there for this wonderful community event this Sunday morning. The monthly Old Bar markets will be nearby.
Craft at Old Bar
Craft at Old Bar resumes for 2020 on Wednesday, February 5.
The group meets at The Soldiers' Memorial Hall, Hall Street, Old Bar. Hours are from 11am until 2pm.
First term has an interesting program including cards, creative tea-bag paper folding, macramé and a pyramid bean bag chook to use as an Easter egg decoration.
Our first class for the year will be making Mothers' Day cards to send overseas with Combat Cards to our servicemen and women serving overseas and unable to access cards in their location.
Cards will be pre-stamped and craft ladies will colour them in.
